BarkBox Super Chewer vs Bullymake Box image with each open box beside each otherAre you debating whether to sign up for a subscription to BarkBox Super Chewer vs Bullymake Box?

If you’re reading this, your dog is likely a heavy chewer and you need a dog subscription box filled with tougher toys, instead of some flimsy plush toys.

You’ve come to the right place. This blog post will help you decide which option is best for that special power chewer in your life.

Short answer: While both services are high quality and similar in price, I recommend Super Chewer over Bullymake Box. Super Chewer has great customer service, coupons, and guarantee, plus it’s part of the BarkBox family. I don’t like how Bullymake competes with their own affiliates with better deals.

I may receive a small commission through the links below at no cost to you, but you pay nothing extra.

BarkBox Super Chewer vs Bullymake Box Basics

What is BarkBox Super Chewer?

Dog sitting on a towel next to an open BarkBox Super Chewer Box filled with treatsBarkBox Super Chewer is a dog subscription box containing a themed collection of super durable toys, treats, and surprise item (either edible or item).

It’s often referred to as Super Chewer, Bark Super Chewer, or even BarkBox Super Chewer. If you want to learn about regular BarkBox, I wrote an article on whether BarkBox is worth it.

They’re owned by Bark, which is the same company that owns BarkBox. The toys that are included in their boxes are designed specifically with strong chewers in mind.

Their boxes are sent on a monthly basis for however long you choose for a subscription such as month to month, 6 months, or 12 months.

What comes in their box?

The Super Chewer regular box contains:

  • 2 toys,
  • 2 bags of treats, and
  • a surprise item (edible or item).

They use high quality materials such as nylon and rubber in their toys with no fluff inside.

Additionally, the toys come in a variety of designs. For instance, some are interactive treat dispensers.

All of their edible items exclude corn, and are made in the U.S. or Canada. If your dog has allergies to things such as wheat or soy, they offer alternative options.

The subscription boxes are customized for small, medium or large dogs to make sure that the toys and treats are the perfect fit.

What is Bullymake Box?

An open BullyMake Box filled with toys placed outside on wooden planksBullymake Box is another specialized dog subscription box for the power chewer who truly needs tougher toys.

Their boxes are sent on a monthly basis with various subscription lengths such as month to month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months. With a new box and theme every month, your dog should not get bored.

What comes in their box?

The Bullymake regular box contains:

  • 2-3 chew toys, and
  • 3 bags of treats.

They also offer a toys-only box containing 4-5 toys.

They design and manufacture many of their own products. Their toys and treats are made in the U.S., except for their rope product (made in China). Their toys are meant to withstand heavy chewing and are tested with many strong breeds.

When you order from Bullymake, you’ll be asked the weight of your dog so that they can personalize each box and ensure the toys are size appropriate.

In addition to their tough toys, they do now offer plush toys for households wanting softer toys after receiving customer feedback.

Additionally, Bullymake puts an emphasis on healthy treats.

Pricing of Super Chewer vs Bullymake Box

Now I’ll discuss the monthly pricing for each subscription box.

Super Chewer cost

The current prices are:

  • Monthly Subscription: $45/month
  • 6 Month Subscription: $35/month
  • 12 Month Subscription:$29/month

Note: If you prepay for a plan, you can get a 10% discount

For shipping, all U.S. subscriptions are billed at $4.99/month, while billed $8/month for outside of the U.S. It can be waived though if you have an extra toy ($9) added to your plan.

Super Chewer Coupon:

  1. Sign up today and your first box will be doubled stuffed for free! (Valid on 6 & 12 month plans)
  2. FREE Birthday Party Bundle with your first box! (Valid on 6 & 12 month plans)
  3. Get a FREE month added to your plan when you subscribe (Valid on 6 & 12 month plans)

They also offer military discounts, but you may need to speak to them.

Bullymake cost

The current prices of Bullymake boxes are:

  • Monthly Subscription: $45/month
  • 3 Month Subscription: $35/month
  • 6 Month Subscription:$33/month
  • 12 Month Subscription: $29/month

Their website states that a shipping fee of $4 applies to multi-month plans within the U.S. If you ship to Canada or Australia, shipping costs an additional $8.00 per month.

The price of Bullymake is very similar in price as Super Chewer for the same subscription lengths.

As mentioned in the introduction, Bullymake will often compete with their own affiliates like myself, and offer better deals. As a result, I was doing my visitors a disservice with the coupons I provided since they were losing out on further savings.

Customization

When comparing each company, you should take into account your customization options to fit the needs of your pup.

Super Chewer

There’s some automatic customization from the start since Super Chewer will adjust your items based on the size of your dog. When you sign up, they’ll ask you whether your dog is small (1-20 lbs), medium (20-50 lbs), or large (50+ lbs).

As far as the mixture of items, for your first box, it comes pre-packed. However, for subsequent boxes, you can customize your box by contacting customer service. For example, you can switch to a toys-only box.

You can also change the frequency of your boxes after you place your order such as to every other month.

Further, if your dog has allergies, they state that they can accommodate almost all allergies.

Bullymake

Just like Super Chewer, Bullymake will ask you for the size of your dog. During the sign-up process, you’ll provide them with your dog’s weight so that they can cater items to the proper size. You can also customize the materials of the toys such as rubber, nylon, rope, or ballistic after purchase.

You can also adjust the shipping frequency by contacting their customer service.

As far as allergy specifications, they only cater to allergies for grain, beef, or chicken. If your dog has another food sensitivity, they offer a ‘toys only’ box option.

Satisfaction Guarantees

Super Chewer Guarantee

If any toy is destroyed by your dog, BarkBox Super Chewer guarantees to replace it with no questions asked, no time limit and no evidence required.

Bullymake Guarantee

Bullymake has a 45-day satisfaction guarantee. If your dog destroys any toy, you’ll need to take a picture. If it qualifies for a replacement, they’ll ship you a different toy for free. They’ll also replace items that your dog is not satisfied with for any reason.

Conclusion

Both of these subscription boxes separate themselves from their competitors by offering unique toys made for the heavy chewer. As far as price, both companies offer similarly priced plans.

As mentioned in the intro, I prefer Super Chewer over Bullymake mainly due to Bullymake competing with their own affiliates. I previously had offered Bullymake coupons to my visitors, but they ended up losing out on better deals directly through the company.

On the other hand, Super Chewer offers many coupon deals that I promote to my visitors such as an extra month, extra toys in your box, special themes, and more.

While BarkBox Super Chewer has a very liberal replacement policy, some of their toys do seem to need replacement more often. Bullymake’s customers do seem to report fewer toys being destroyed.

Both companies seem pretty flexible on customization, with BarkBox catering to more allergy preferences.

Overall, the choice between these two dog subscription boxes really depends on your priorities. I would suggest carefully reviewing the comparison chart above to determine what is most important to you.

I have two dogs and subscribed to both. Love both boxes. Dogs get so excited.

I am currently with super chewer. For my blue heeler. I have been frustrated with the constant lag time and ” shipping delays” and have considered changing subscriptions. My Sadie is almost 2 and is a definate chewer. She loves the toys more than the treats. Can you give me some advice?

I would check into KONG Box. They have an Extreme Chewer option. KONG toys are well-made and have been around for decades. The first box should come within 10 days, but I don’t know if there are any delays due to the pandemic. You can get coupons within this article: Kong Box vs BarkBox

  3. Lisa Bowdish says:

I have done both boxes…but stick with Super Chewer. The leg up which is not mentioned her is the variety in the toys over BullyMake. I did 6 months with BullyMake and was disappointed in the creativity. Seemed the nylon was always a flat item just stamped in a different shape…and the rubber item was always a wacky bounce treat dispenser. My dog got very bored. To this day…my dog only uses one of the BullyMake toys…everything else she enjoys is Super Chewer.
