What Are The Best Dog Subscription Boxes For Puppies?
Are you looking to buy a dog subscription box for a new puppy?
Subscription boxes are very popular right now including ones geared toward dogs.
Certain boxes make great gifts for your puppy or a friend’s puppy.
Normally, you will receive a monthly box filled with items such as dog toys, treats, and chews. Depending on the company, you can also receive helpful information related to raising them.
In this blog post, I’ll discuss the best dog subscription boxes for puppies.
By the way, I may collect a small commission from the links below, but I only recommend products I find trustworthy.
1. BarkBox
BarkBox is the leader in dog subscription boxes right now. Initially, I had PupBox as the #1 choice, but I’ve been receiving complaints over the quality of their toys and treats.
The reason why I recommend BarkBox for puppies is because they offer 3 sizes: small (under 20 lbs), medium (20-49 lbs), and large (over 50 lbs). As a result, you can customize your plan according to your puppy’s size.
These size options cost exactly the same, plus you can change the size at anytime when your puppy grows. According to their website, their toys are suitable for dogs of all ages, but their plans are preferable for dogs over 6 months old. However, they also offer a toys only box that you can use prior to this.
In each monthly box, you’ll receive at least 2 toys, 2 treats, and a chew.
As of today, the subscription cost of BarkBox is the following:
- Monthly: $35/month
- 6 Months: $26/month (or $139 upfront)
- 12 Months: $22/month (or $234 upfront)

- Get a FREE month added to your plan! (Valid on 6 and 12 month plans)
- Double Stuffed Upgrade to your first BarkBox! (Valid on 6 and 12 month plans)
While you don’t get the training toys or information specific to a puppy, BarkBox is less expensive overall compared to PupBox and KONG Box.
Further, BarkBox is known for their great customer service who can help you choose the best plan for your dog’s age and breed.

2. KONG-Box
KONG Box is another great choice when it comes to dog subscription boxes for puppies. They’re a popular maker of innovative dog toys such as the KONG Classic, which has been around for roughly 40 years.
Their subscription box offers toys, treats, and other goodies that are specifically included to fit your dog’s needs.
The reason why I recommend KONG Box for puppies is because they customize their boxes based on your dog’s size, age and certain conditions. For example, KONG Box offers items specifically for teething and crate training, which are great for new puppies.
There are also items geared toward digging, separation anxiety, barking, chewing, and boredom, which can also help a puppy.
If your dog is less than 6 months old, they’re considered a puppy under their subscription plan.
In each box, you’ll receive the following:
- A KONG Training Toy
- The KONG Classic (just for the first box)
- A Personality Toy
- Three Bags of Treats
- Recipes and Tips
Depending on your chosen plan, you will pay the following prices:
- $39.95 per month under their month to month plan
- $34.95 per month for their 6 box plan
- $29.95 per month for their 12 box plan.

3. PupBox
If you’re looking for a subscription box geared specifically for puppies, you may heard of PupBox. Recently, I have received complaints over their toys and treats, so have moved them to the #3 position.
You’ll receive a monthly box filled with 5-7 various products in addition to training guides to help raise your puppy.
The various items consist of toys, chews, treats, and/or grooming products. As your puppy gets older, PupBox will adjust the items in your box to accommodate their age and development.
When signing up, you will choose a subscription length, which will determine your monthly cost.
As of today, PupBox offers the following plans and prices:
- $39/month for a month to month plan
- $34/month for a 3 month plan
- $32/month for a 6 month plan
- $29/month for a 12 month plan
They also offer some great coupons throughout the year that I promote on my site.
PupBox Coupons:

Conclusion
Whether you choose BarkBox, KONG Box, or PupBox, these subscription boxes for puppies should hopefully meet your needs.
Each company requests information on the size of your dog during signup to customize your items. Some even offer specific toys (KONG Box) or training material (PupBox) geared toward puppies.
